In Bekah Brunstetter’s play\, inspired by a real Colorado legal case that went all the way to the Supreme Court\, Jen goes home to a small town in North Carolina marry a woman\, but her late mother’s cake-making best friend refuses to provide her service. Faith\, family\, and frosting collide in this timely comedy directed directed by Troy Lakey. This continues Firehouse Producing Artistic Director Helen Hand’s steadfast commitment to designate one performance of every tun with 100 PERCENT of proceeds donated to the DAF. DESCRIPTION:Our friends at OpenStage Theatre & Company in Fort Collins have a unique\, signature program to support The Denver Actors Fund called “Final Fridays.” On the\, yes\, final Friday of every mainstage production run\, cast members gather after the show to greet departing audience members and collect bucket donations for the DAF. Next up: OpenStage will be collecting after the Friday\, JULY 10\, performance of Shakespeare’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor” at The Park at Columbine Health Systems. The director is Kate Austin–Gröen. The cast has not yet been announced. \n“Merry Wives” is “The Sir John Falstaff Show.” Stumbling and bumbling Sir John has a plan to seduce two wealthy housewives and make off with their fortunes. But these wives are far more clever than he\, and are ready to play some tricks of their own.
