Treasurer Scott Rathbun

Scott Rathbun was unanimously approved to join the Denver Actors Fund Board of Directors as Treasurer in October 2023.

Scott Rathbun is the DAF’s new treasurer.

Scott Rathbun, a graduate of Columbine High School with an MBA from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business, is a longtime local actor and President of Apartment Appraisers & Consultants Inc., a niche commercial real-estate appraisal and consulting firm. He recently starred in the True West Award-winning “In the Trenches” at the Town Hall Arts Center. He and wife Angela are the parents of two sons.

Born and raised in Denver, Scott has performed extensively at regional theaters in Colorado and across the country, including more than 100 productions and 1,800 performances. Favorite roles include Max Bialystock (The Producers), including the Colorado premiere, Dave Bukatinsky (Full Monty), both Nathan Detroit and Nicely (Guys and Dolls), Amos Hart (Chicago), both Max and Tito (Lend Me a Tenor), and both “men” in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.

He was nominated for a Denver Post Ovation Award for his portrayal of William Barfée in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and reprised the role in a touring production. Scott was also nominated for an Ovation Award for Best Performance in a Children’s Production, and won the “Reader’s Choice” award for his portrayal of Toad in the Arvada Center’s A Year with Frog & Toad.

In addition, he originated the role of Cholly Butts in the World Premiere of Walton Jones’ The 1940’s Radio Christmas Carol, music by David Wohl, and lyrics by Faye Greenberg (Disney’s High School Musical), available through Samuel French.

Recent projects include playing Tito Merelli in Lend Me a Tenor at Miners Alley Playhouse, Max Bialystock in The Producers at both the Breckenridge Backstage Theatre and Performance Now Theater Company, as well as singing the role of Nicely in a concert version of Guys and Dolls for the Platte Valley Players.

He is a past adjudicator for the Denver Center’s Bobby G Awards, which are part of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards program, and a graduate of the University of Denver, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA. He previously served on the Denver Center’s Young Professional Advisory Board, was a member of the executive board of the Colorado Theatre Guild, and is a past president of the Avenue Theater. He lives in Denver with his beautiful wife and children. When not on stage, he can be found chasing his two young boys or working in real estate consulting as a commercial appraiser.
