COME TO THE EVENTS THAT SUPPORT US:
MONDAY, MAY 20: Our wonderful friends at Firehouse Theater Company have designated their Industry Night performance of Melanie Marnich’s “These Shining Lives” as a benefit for the Denver Actors Fund, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the PAWS Fund (which supports artists paying vet medical bills). In 1922, four women have taken their dream jobs painting the tiny hands on watches in the factory of The Radium Dial Company in Ottawa, Illinois. “These Shining Lives” chronicles the strength and determination of women who were considered expendable in their day. These are women who refused to allow the company that stole their health to kill their spirits. Please join us at 7:30 p.m. MONDAY, MAY 20 at the John Hand Theater, 7653 E. 1st Place, Denver, CO 80230. Tickets are only $15 (normally $27) on this night only. Order yours or get more information at firehousetheatercompany.com.
MONDAY, MAY 20: The good folks at Cherry Creek Theatre Company have just EXTENDED THEIR RUN by one day to add an Industry Night performance of Melissa Lucero McCarl’s world-premiere play “The Heartbeat of the Sun” as a benefit for the Denver Actors Fund! (That’s a first!) Lucero McCarl (“Painted Bread”) has written a comic and heartfelt new work about two aging best friends who have spent their lifetimes in the theater. They are played here by local legends Billie McBride and Anne Oberbroeckling. Also featuring Maggy Stacy, Lorraine Larocque and Daevon Robinson. Directed by Patrick Elkins-Zeglarski. This special performance takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Pluss Theatre at the Mizel Arts and Culture Center, 350 S. Dahlia St. 100 percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Denver Actors Fund! Thank you, Artistic Producer Jeffry Denman and playwright Melissa McCarl for making this special evening possible. Tickets: 303-316-6360 or cherrycreektheatre.org.
MONDAY, JUNE 3: Please join us for Town Hall Arts Center’s Industry Night performance of “The Prom.” That’s a new musical that follows four Broadway actors lamenting their days of fame as they travel to the conservative town of Edgewater, Indiana, to help a lesbian student banned from bringing her girlfriend to high-school prom. Our friends at Town Hall are continuing their incredible commitment to designate one performance per run with 100 percent of all proceeds from ticket and concession sales to be donated to The Denver Actors Fund. Join us on MONDAY, JUNE 3 at 2450 Main St. in Littleton. Tickets are only $22 (normally as much as $52). Reserve your seats at 303-794-2787 or townhallartscenter.org.
