About Lynne Hastings: Actor, arts administrator and facilitator Lynne Hastings is pretty much a legend in Colorado Springs, where for 25 years she has worked in multiple capacities at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College, Theatreworks, Springs Ensemble Theatre and elsewhere. Most recently, she appeared as Marmee in Theatreworks’ “Little Women.” Past performances include: “Pipeline,” “A Raisin in the Sun,” “Happy Days,” “A Christmas Carol,” Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,” Seven Guitars” and “Doubt” at Theatreworks; “Hairspray,” “Intimate Apparel” and “Little Shop of Horrors at the Fine Arts Center; and more. She’s originally from Akron, Ohio, a mother of two and is married to actor David Hastings – whom the Denver Actors Fund separately supported with nearly $4,000 for cancer treatments in 2021.

Her medical story: Last September, Lynne was admitted to the hospital after suffering what she calls “a thyroid storm,” which has since been diagnosed and is now being treated.

How we have helped: To date, Lynne has submitted medical bills amounting to $1,308.62 related to her case, and the Denver Actors Fund has paid all of them. All told, the DAF has provided $5,289 in medical assistance to the Hastings family.

I’M BEYOND GRATEFUL THAT THE DENVER ACTORS FUND WAS HERE TO HELP IN AN UNEXPECTED SITUATION THAT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE.’

A message from Lynne Hastings: “The Denver Actors Fund helped our family – again – after I found myself in an emergency medical situation. I’m beyond grateful that they were here to help in an unexpected situation that can happen to anyone. The DAF has allowed me to focus on my health and not on those bills. Thank you, to the entire DAF team!”

How you can help us help us help more Colorado theatre artists: The Denver Actors Fund has sent out more than $45,000 in artist assistance since the start of 2023 alone. And we have brought back in barely a fraction of that. If you would like to make a donation to help us  replenish, simply mail checks in any amount made out to Denver Actors Fund to P.O. Box 11182, Denver, CO 80211. Or use this donation link, with our humble thanks.
