Community Care
When members of Colorado’s theatre community are facing medical challenges or hardships, everyday tasks can suddenly become overwhelming.
In addition to financial assistance, Denver Actors Fund may be able to connect applicants with volunteers who can help provide practical, day-to-day support during times of need. This support is rooted in community care. Artists showing up for one another when life becomes difficult.
Depending on volunteer ability, practical assistance may include:
- Meal preparation
- Meal delivery
- Transportation to an from medical appointments, work or essential errands
- Grocery shopping and errand running
- Light household help and cleaning support
- Child care assistance
- Snow removal
- Pet sitting or pet care
- Personal company and companionship
- Simple construction or accessibility projects, such as building ramps or installing handrails.
Everyone’s situation is different and available support is based on volunteer capacity, scheduling and specific needs. While we cannot guarantee all requests can be fulfilled, we will do our best to connect community members with available resources whenever possible.
