For local actor, ‘shredding’ took on a
devastating new meaning at Copper Mountain

Who we helped: Evelyn Kunch has been involved in the Denver theater community since 2021. She has performed in Platte Valley Players’ “Pride and Prejudice,” Give 5 Productions’ “Footloose,” Cherry Creek Theatre’s “Peter and the Starcatcher” and Performance Now’s “Little Women.” Of her performance In “Starcatcher,” Onstage Colorado’s Alex Miller wrote: “As the future Mrs. Darling, Evelyn Kunch is a ton of fun to watch as a perky 13-year-old punching above her weight amid a cast of male characters.” Toni Tresca called her “deliciously snotty” in “Little Women.” Evelyn holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Baylor University.
Evelyn’s medical story, in her words: “I tore my ACL skiing on Nov. 11, 2024 – opening weekend at Copper Mountain. The injury halted my life in every way possible, including the ability to drive as much as my job required. ACL surgery, MRIs and the physical therapy that goes along with all that set me back financially and mentally. One most unfortunate part of it all was that I listened to the ‘Rock of Ages’ soundtrack the whole way up to Copper Mountain in hopes of auditioning for that production!”
‘THIS REALLY PROVED TO ME THAT THE DENVER ACTORS FUND HAS PERFORMERS’ BACKS.’

A message from Evelyn: ” The Denver Actors Fund lent me a hand financially, and that has impacted my life in a tremendous way. I feel as if I’m able to move forward from the injury that has taken away so much from me because of this help. What an incredible thing! The Denver theater community is already so special to me, and this really proved to me that the Denver Actors Fund has performers’ backs. All the more reason to start acting again! I am incredibly thankful to the Denver Actors Fund.”
