Firehouse Theater’s ‘White’

April 13, 2026 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Our great friends at Firehouse Theater Company have designated their MONDAY, APRIL 13 Industry Night performance of “White” as a benefit, with 100 percent of all proceeds donated to the Denver Actors Fund! In James Ijames’ play, previously staged at Curious Theatre. Jane, an art curator, wants to “change the face of the museum to truly reflect America.” She excludes her artist friend, Gus, a white gay man, arguing that “white dudes” have had their turn. Outraged and desperate to have his work included, Gus hires Vanessa, a Black actress, to perform as a brash political artist who will fit the museum’s desire for “new voices.” The play spins out of comic control as it explores issues of race, gender, sexuality and art. Directed by Julie K. Wolf. This continues Firehouse Producing Artistic Director Helen Hand’s steadfast commitment to designate one performance of every run with 100 PERCENT of proceeds donated to the DAF. Thank you to all involved, including cast, crew, creatives and staff for helping the DAF continue to help Colorado theater artists! Tickets at https://firehousetheatercompany.ticketspice.com/white – and be sure to choose MONDAY, APRIL 13! Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. And If you can’t join us on DAF Night, please support the companies that support us by taking in this fun new play anytime between April 4 and May 5.
