Morgan McCauley: $3,787

‘I will only ever sing praises for this wonderful charity,’ sound designer says after surgery bills are wiped away

Aid recipient: Morgan McCauley of Arvada is a freelance sound designer, engineer and technician who recently worked on the Arvada Center’s “Beauty and the Beast.”  She went to Westminster High School, studied Theatre Arts and Design Technology at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and Sound Design at the California Institute of the Arts. She previously worked for the DCPA Theatre Company. According to her bio, Morgan will answer to Moira, “I enjoy an eclectic selection of music, I adore reading, love my family and friends, and am a fan of a certain select number of television series.” It’s worth mentioning that she has a clever sibling who goes by the handle “Edgar Allan Bro” on Facebook.

Her medical story: Morgan fell ill during the Dec. 30 performance of “Beauty and the Beast” and was admitted to the ER on the next day with intense pain. That’s when she was told that her gallbladder needed to be removed.

How we are helping: Morgan submitted several medical bills totaling $3,786.83 in out-of-pocket expenses, and the Denver Actors Fund Board of Directors has voted to pay them off in full.

‘My gratitude for the Denver Actors Fund is boundless.’ – Morgan McCauley

A message from Morgan: “Although it is not anywhere near adequate enough to express my thanks, I need to say this: Nearly three months ago, I was in the E.R. Nearly two months ago, I had surgery. Today, the nearly $4,000 in bills are paid in full, thanks to the Denver Actors Fund. My gratitude for them is boundless. After a month of only being able to work half the time, and after nearly two months of worrying about how I would pay these bills, and after worrying that whole time that I would likely be using any money I would normally put in savings to pay them off for several years to come – the relief is dizzying. ‘Thank you’ will never be enough, and I will only ever sing praises for this wonderful charity. What a blessing to have such a resource in our community. I am eternally grateful.”

How you can help us replenish: At The Denver Actors Fund, we love it when the money goes out as fast as it comes in, which means we are in a constant state of replenishment. That’s the gig. If you would like to help us keep up, simply mail checks in any amount made out to Denver Actors Fund to P.O. Box 11182, Denver, CO 80212. Or use this donation link, with our humble thanks,

Then their son, Jean-Michele, drops a bomb: He is getting married to a woman whose father is a homophobic, conservative politician. To ensure a smooth “meet the parents,” Georges and Albin try to act “normal” – leading to a night of chaos and hilarity. Directed and choreographed by Nathan Halverson, with music direction and tracks created by Phil Forman. Tickets only $27 (normally as much as $52). Reserve your seats at 303-794-2787 or townhallartscenter.org.
